I was just wondering is anyone can help me. Im about to go and buy a new
head unit, speakers and i want to install a sub and amp. How do you hook up
the sub and amp to the head unit, when the sub is in the boot and the amp is
either in the boot or under the drivers seat????

Well...you need some long thick cables.
Go down to your local car shop and look in the audio section for an amp
kit.
These tend to cost between £10 - £30 depending on the quality.
Inside you'll find a thick red cable (also known as POWER cable (+))
with a fuse on one end.
There will be a black cable (also known as GROUND cable (-)) which will
be short.
There will be a blue cable (also known as REMOTE cable).
Finally the will be a long cable with two RCA connections on either end
of the cable run.
Strip your cars interior out that is nearest to the floor (this can be
very time consuming).
Do this on both sides.
Fit the RED and BLUE cables into one side of the car.
Fit the RCA cable in the other side of the car.
This is done to prevent interference.
Connect the RCA cable to the RCA connection on the back of your
headunit.
Connection the BLUE cable to the ISO BLOCK that is connected into your
headunit.
This may require you too snip the BLUE cable on the ISO block and
connect it using
a BULLET connecter to the BLUE cable coming from the back of the car or
under the seat.
Connect your GROUND cable either by drilling a hole into your cars body
and bolting
it down or clamping in between an existing bolt on your car. Remember
to lubricate the
connection and to sand the surrounding area with sand paper until raw
metal is showing.
Connect the cable to the relivant points on the amplifier.
Run the RED cable through a gromet (a rubber seal) to get into the
engine compartment.
Connect your RED cable to the POSITIVE (+) terminal on your battery.
Sparks may fly.

I would suggest taking a look at this group's FAQ at:

Although your question seems simple on the surface, there are many steps and
issues involved and this FAQ will give you some good info before you start.
