Would appreciate if anyone can tell me what the mono 3.5mm plug is for,
which is at the end of the same lead as the red & white phono plugs. Seems
to work OK without this plug being connected. Have measured variable DC at
the tip - seems to vary with PU arm position?
(Picked the unit up at the local flea market - and can't find any info about
this aspect.)
Many thanks

If it's a fairly recent model, and by that I mean late '80s or after, I
think it's probably a "system remote" cable to allow the turntable to be
controlled by a Pioneer remote when connected to a Pioneer receiver. They
also did that with cassettes, tuners, and CD players.

Many thanks. I wondered if it was something of the sort, and whether I could
do it an injury by accidentally shorting the tip to the sleeve.
"Rumble wise" it seems quieter than my old belt drive PL12. I like the PU
arm automation, and so far checking it with difficult(?) piano records, I
can't hear any problems as compared to the PL12.
