DENON DR-M22 Cassette Deck

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with the Denon DR-M22? How does it
perform? Is robustly constructed? I am thinking about buying one.

OK I just checked - it is 3 head

I have owned 2 Denon decks and have been happy

Make sure the rubber isn't cracked or shiny. (Cracked due to age -
shiny due to lack of cleaning)

If the rollers are dirty and clean up without the problems above they
are OK (By the way a feed and take up roller is best - some only have
take up)

Try the FF and Rew feature and hold the wheels a bit - just to see if
they can take a little drag. If they stop immedietly or slip the idler
or belts may be bad (same with the tape up reel during Play)

If you are buying one don't go over 75$

Thanks MD,

It was a 3 head, which is what attracted me, and two motor. I waited
too long. It's gone. Ah well! :-)

My cassette collection is prety big, 300+. One of my previous machines
stared trapping tapes in its well. The other was lost in a divorce.

Since so many folks are abandoning there cassette recorders for newer
technology, this seems like a good time to shop for some good, used
machines. I wouldn't buy a new one. the current crop are all
features and no substance. And, there are too many being build
nowadays.
