View Full Version : Nash Rambler
October 25th 06, 02:22 PM
Was listening to the '50s channel on XM rdio yesterday. Song played
about a Nash Rambler overtaking a cadillac at 120mph. The driver of the
Rambler leans out and says, "hey buddy how do I get this car out of
second gear"?
I vaguely remember that there might have been such a car some time ago,
the NAsh that is.
Anybody knows this car? owned one? Which of the major car companies
made it? what years ?

i seriously doubt the Nash was going to be able to pass very many cars
and definitely NOT in second gear.

When I think Nash Rambler, I think of the Nash-metro,
the really small one. I didn't realize there were so many
models when you search Nash Rambler. When I was
young, there was one parked across the street. This thing was probably
slightly larger than the orginal Honda Civic. After all the song does
say Little Nash Rambler.

When I was a kid i bought 2 '68 ramblers for 45 bucks and made one car
out of them. It's still running. It was slower than the speed of smell
but rund forever. It had a straight six I believe.
It was a stabbin' wagon! The front seats layed right into the back
forming a perfect little "bed"

My Dad used to buy used Rambler wagons for a number of years as second cars
Fun little things, some a little odd looking. Those reclining seats
I seem to recall. The best was a 1967 model with a 327 engine.
Oh that reminds me of my friends 1967 Shelby GT-500. Rode
to school a couple times before it was stolen. Then there was the 1969
AMC AMX I rode in back in 1969, and my other friends 1969 GTX, and the 1969 427 Vette, I think i
better quit, and all I had in 1969 was a 1963 Fairlane, big back seat, 2 door..
I have to ride home in my Cavalier.

That's not quite right, the rambler, maybe not, but as for nash in
general, the healey and rebel were decent for speed compared to the
cars of their respective periods.
