View Full Version : - Need Help Connecting Things

Hi Everybody,
I can't figure out how to connect the audio from my cable box to my computer
and stereo at the same time. The cable box has audio outputs that are easy
to connect to either the computer or the stereo. That's where I'm at now.
The cable box also has a Digital Audio Out jack and I was thinking that I
could just get a digital-to-analog converter, but the only one I could find
on the web was hundreds of dollars. Radio Shack doesn't seem to carry such a
thing. Is this a possibility?
Another idea I had was to split the RCA outputs with one branch going to the
stereo and the other to the computer. Again, I can't find such a splitter.
Is that possible?
My last idea was to split the coax with one branch going into the cable box
and the other going into a converter with RCA outputs. Is that possible?
Thanks for any help,
Matt

Just use a pair of single male phono to 2 male phono y-jacks. You
should be able to split the analog audio output from the box without
any problems. Radio Shack sells one: Cat.# 42-2539:

Thanks Gary. That looks like just what I need. I was at Radio Shack before I
posted, and none of the guys there thought of this.
