Not enough power?

Noisy fan?

Too heavy for shelf?

He's just trying to save your money. The Magnepan shop here often demos
with Audio Research and Bel Canto on the expensive side, and NAD on the
cheap side. If what you need is cheap amp that works, maybe Onkyo?

A powerful MOSFET amp, preferably in class A, is what works best for
me.
You could even try a powerful tube amp, since the impedance curve of
Maggies is relatively straight.
Their efficiency, however, is rather low, so you'll need at least
something like 2 x 100 watts to make them come to life.

In short, you need one of *my* amps ;-)
