System sounds are reproduced through an output device.
DAW recordings are made through an input device.
Ideally these are two separate paths that don't intersect.
If they do, it's on purpose and done by a software application,
not the OS.

Usually people route them through an audio interface that is not used for
audio production.

Agreed. But there may be a set of studio monitors set for a relatively high
level on one of the high-quality outputs. See above.
