View Full Version : ~$300 Mic's for Classical Guitar

September 1st 06, 08:47 AM
Hi people,

I was hoping to get a few quick opinions on what mic's to get for a
beginner setup. Heres some info about my home studio setup.

1) Room is roughly 5m (lenght) x 5m (width) x ~2.4m (height) :: Tiled
floor, 1 large 4m long thick sliding glass door, 1 small 1.6m sliding
glass door, and a window. (in effect, pretty average location for
recording)

2) Esteve 6PS Classical Guitar ~$1,000 (Aus)

3) PreSonus Inspire 1394 Preamp/mixer with 48v phantom power ~$400
(Aus)

4) Fast computer with average sound card (Forgot what...)

NOTE:: My budget is ~$300 for a pair of mic's (total).

Previously ive been recording with a Sony DV camera so practically any
mic is an upgrade but i'd still like to find a good value product for
what i can spend. I have been looking at mic's like AT3035, Rode NT1A,
though i have to ebay them to get for my budget. Any help would be very
appreciated.

Cheers,

LP
