View Full Version : Computer to Yves Cochet amp and Dynaudio Gemini speakers

I'm using an IBM laptop (which has an Analog Devices SoundMax sound
card) and Adobe Audition to edit and mix a radio documentary. The
computer is not being used to capture the sound. For that, I am using a
Sound Devices recorder (at 24 bit) and Schoeps mics. During editing and
mixing, I plan to run the sound from the computer through an Yves
Cochet tube amplifier to Dynaudio Gemini speakers.

I am trying to decide whether I should bypass the computer's sound card
and, if so, what should replace it. I need two outputs. Reading prior
threads, I gather that my options range from something like an M-Audio
Audiophile 192 to a LynxTwo sound card to a Benchmark or CEC digital to
analog converter. As you may have gathered by now, I am quite
unknowledgeable when it comes to computer/audio interfaces. I could use
some advice, especially since the various options differ significantly
in cost.

Also, if anyone is familiar with Yves Cochet amplifiers and Dynaudio
Gemini speakers, is there any reason why I should not use this
combination for editing and mixing?

Thanks very much for any assistance.
