hey. I have the v-drums with the rubber pads. I bought them cuz acoustic drums are too loud for apartments and I couldn't afford the expensive mesh pad kits. is there any way I could muffle the sound of the sticks hitting the pads so it's softer for my upstairs neighbors (i have a basement apartment)? whether it be putting something on the pads or sticks or building ignal some kind of second ceiling and hanging vinyl barrier from the suspended ceiling? i'm looking for something cost effective.
thanks.

I have a rolland TD7 Turbo kit. It's probably a lot like yours. I can't
think how anyone could hear just the sticks hitting the pad unless you
live in a paper house or something but - there is something called
soundboard. I buy it at lowes or homedepot. It's $8 US for a 8x4 foot
sheet 1/2 inch think. If you put that up all over you will kill about
30 dB or so. It is splinter city so you probably need to cover it with
a fabric of some kind. You can always find $1 stores for that.
As far as making the pads quiet, I think they already are. Maybe just
moving the set around a little will make it better. Sometimes you find
a sweet spot and things ring out louder.
