i am replacing a volume pot on my emu sp1200 drum machine. i know its
10k but i dont know if its 1/2 watt 1/4 watt or what. does it matter?
how can i tell?

It almost certainly doesn't matter.
You aren't controlling any power here.

It probably doesn't matter, but you can usually tell by the size. Odds
are it's a quarter-watt or less.

Make sure you are using an audio or log taper pot as a replacement and
not a linear taper. That is more important than the power rating.
