Devoted strictly to gear-freaks who have little or no interest in
software-based music production, Hardware Synthesizers provides a
public forum for synth enthusiasts who are tired of threads concerning
software cluttering up most of the music-making discussion groups.

On a related note, is anyone aware of any print magazine that is
devoted solely to hardware synthesis? Once upon a time, FutureMusic
seemed to feature a lot more articles concerning hardware (even after
the initial software popularity surge) than it currently does.

With Future Music, it hardly matters _what_ they write about... whatever
the topic, you know they'll do a crappy job of it.

I should clarify that this a Google Group-NOT a Usenet group. I'm not
exactly sure about the relationship between the two entities (if anyone
knows how they are interconnected, please let me know), but in case
you're having difficulty finding it, this link should take you there:

They're not connected (except that you're mentioning it here:-)
Newsgroups are newsgroups, mail lists are mail lists. Google the
definitions if you want.

They aren't related at at all. This is Usenet and is nothing to do with
Google and it's Groups.

Thank you. I thought that was the case, but it was a bit confusing
that the Google Groups show up alongside the Usenet Groups in my Google
Group browser.

The relashionship appears to be that Google created its "Groups" to
be intentionally confusing between them and Usenet newsgroups
(postable and searchable through Google from its large Usenet
archive), leading people to believe that its "Groups" ARE Usenet
newsgroups. IMHO this is the worst, most misleading thing Google has
ever done.
