View Full Version : Software Suited For Making Death Metal

August 23rd 06, 08:10 PM
The bands that play death metal synthesize all of their screaming
before hand, and then rock their guitars live on stage while the
pre-recorded voices let loose on the audience. What software do you
think is best suited for recording vocals of that kind of quality, and
synthesizing them to sound even better?

You sound as though you like to stir the pot. HA - Don't really have an
answer, though.

He can't afford the synth he really wants, so has swung the 'other way'.

It's difficult to answer your questions because, to be blunt, you don't know
enough to frame them properly.

Actually, most of the bands I know of are doing the screaming live, but
with a very odd technique that allows them to scream quietly and not damage
their vocal chords. A good vocal coach can teach this.

If you want to prerecord the vocal parts, that's difficult because they
have to be played back in perfect synch. I'd probably use a sampling keyboard
for that.

But as in real life, you do need to record those parts with an SM58, so
they 'cut through'.
