Well I was playing a minidisc the other day and the last tracks of it
was dropping out terribly, then it wouldn't play at all.
I looked at the surface of it and saw alot of fuzzy spots near the
edge. I didnt touch it at all though.
I erased it and recorded something else only for the recording to stop
with an error notice, again, near the last 10 min or so.
This was a Memorex minidisc that is a few years old and has been
recorded over and over many times. Perhaps it just wore out.
I have another problem with another MD, also a Memorex. Skips for a
bit, again near the last 10 min or so. Happens in both SP and LP2
modes.
I've also had funny squeeling noises, again, only with the Memorex
discs.
These were 74 min discs.
So far I havent had any problems with the Sony discs. My MD recorder
is an MZN-505. I sure hope the unit aint going. I do have a
replacement plan with Circuit City, and the guy who sold it said to
just "bring it in" for a store credit toward a new one, but after
"reading the fine print" on the plan it says I have to go online and
ship it, and then wait for a credit. What a ripoff. I'll never use
those plans again. The whole idea is that I dont have to wait for
repair, and in the end I have to wait.
Well I just hope it aint the recorder..
