On Friday 25th August 2006 at 16:00 GMT, BBC Radio 4 will be
broadcasting a tribute to Peter Copeland who died recently.
Peter was originally a sound engineer with the BBC and later became the
Technical Curator of the British National Sound Archive. He devoted his
life to improvements in sound recovery techniques and sound
preservation.
He decoded the matrix numbers and factory marks of many leading record
manufacturers and, from them, produced the definitive dating guide for
British 78s.
