I'm still searching for a decent sounding EQ for my DAW.
I know, I know, most of you will definitley say there's no replacement
for outboard or desk EQ, but right now I have neither in my sights,
especially for the project I'm doing at the moment.
I have Waves REQ and the 'Q' series (Q2,4,6,10 ect).. But right now I'm
looking at the Sony Oxford EQ and wondering if that's any good...
Anyone had any experience using the Sony Oxford EQ?
Or got any suggestions for any RTAS/VST based EQs?
TIA!

The UAD-1 Neve EQ is very good..........as in worth the price of the
hardware card just to be able to purchase the EQ plugin (which will be
extra, but can likely be *bundled* or at least discounted if you buy the
card).

Check this free one out. It's not just "good for the money", it sounds
good, period.

I like the TLA Audio EQ. I find it musical in that it does wde gentle
slopes at useful frequencies and usually makes things sound better.
I'd guess it may be modeled after a pultec, but I only used one once a
long time ago.

Sony good.
Meek & IK bad.
BF so so. Not bad, didn't rock my world.
If you're going RTAS, have you tried the latest version of Digi's stock
EQ, the EQIII? It's actually quite good. It sounds very similar to the
Sony to my ears.

I tried five or six TDM plug-ins, but nothing sounded as good or was as
flexible as the Sony Oxford. The interface is very logical, and I liked what
I heard with it. It ain't cheap, but there are some bundles that help take
the price down a little bit.

I like the EQ iii, it goes much narrower than the Sony, great for
surgical stuff.

I use the Sony EQ, Digi's EQ iii, and the BF Pultec EQ's. At the risk
of going slightly OT the cranesong phoenix, tape emulator harmonic
thingy is very useful too and I think sounds great.
