View Full Version : empty din slot?

I have an empty slot in the dash after removing the factory cd player
(it was separate from the receiver) I would have thought that it
would be easy to find a shelf or something of the sort to fit into the
gaping hole in my dashboard. But no such luck in my search. Anybody
know where to come up with something to fill this empty slot? Thanks

98 honda civic. I assumed there would be such things, just I haven't
been able to turn them up. Probably becasue I'm calling it the wrong
thing when I google for it. So, do you have a link? Thanks

thanks, too bad the Crutchfield guy told me they didn't have anything
like that when I asked about it before buying the new receiver from
them. That looks to be just the ticket.

What exactly does DIN stand for (an acronym, I assume).

DIN (audio)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A "DIN" is a size standard for car audio head units. The standard was
established by the Deutsches Institut für Normung.
Head units generally come in either single DIN (180 x 50 mm panel) or double
DIN (180 x 100 mm panel). The depth is not standard. The original German DIN
standard has, since 1992, been superseded by International Standard ISO
10599.
The term DIN is not an abbreviation as thought by many, but rather a unit of
measurement like centimeters, inches, and so on

He's have to put in two as 90% of equalizers out there are 1/2 DIN size.
