I have run an Audigy in Windows98 for a couple of years with no problem.
Now, whenever I try to open Playcenter by whatever means I get an "Illegal
Operation" message with the following details...

CTPLAY2 caused an invalid page fault in
module CTACD.PJB at 0167:01c0cb95.

Does this gibberish mean anything to anyone? I have reinstalled all the
Creative software and hope to avoid doing a clean reinstall of everything

A quick reinstallation of your Audigy software will probably solve the
problem. I had a similar issue last year and just reinstalled. All's fine
since...
