AR 18s Price and Quality When New

I received a pair of AR 18s speakers (AR/Teledyne) as a 'throw in'
when I purchased a pair of AR-5's at an estate sale recently.

Can anyone remember the price of a pair of AR-18s speakers when they
were new? Does anyone remember their specifications and how well
received they were by critics?


I decided to have the rotten surrounds professionally replaced on the
AR-5's. The smaller speakers have rotted surrounds as well. I balked
at the cost of new surrounds on these, thinking that I might try my
hand at the repair myself.
