This piece intermittently fails to read CDs properly. Mostly, it fails.
It's a Clarion RDB365D.
I was able to get the top off and get an angled access to the laser,
which I cleaned w/ alcohol. Did not solve problem.
There's a reset button that is intermittently helpful, underneath the
plastic cover that the faceplate goes onto...
Anybody know how to get access to the transport mechanism? This thing is
buttoned up pretty tight, with sides soldered to the board, and lots of
inaccessible screws. It's easy enough to get at the underside of the
board, but it doesn't seem like it should be necessary to desolder
things down there in order to get at the transport up top.
Clarion will fix it for a flat rate of $115, which gets you into the
price of a new unit...
Thanks for any suggestions!
