I know the 9255 use dual 20bit Burr Brown DAC .
The 9255 LIMITED also use dual 20 bit DAC but is it
the same Burr Brown DAC?
Thanks.

I could be wrong, but I think the Limited used the K series DAC's which
has a slightly better THD. The effective difference is negligible when
is use in my opinion.

I did a quick search on TI's website to find it:
http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/pcm1702.html
I believe Sony also used this model in their ES line a few years ago.
I found one matrix of that DAC I "think" is used in it [drz-9255]. If
it's not, it would be very similar to it. You can get the specs and test
conditions of the IC, app. circuits and a lot of other information on
the chip from the datasheets. The K series should be mentioned. Let me
know if you need any other information
I have a drx-9255 (not limited), but I don't remember what's in it; it's
in the closet.

As far as I know, the two units are identicle in performance, other than
the new one has a few extras on it like MP3 , xover output and a few
more. The units are identicle otherwise. the Z9255 is just a re-release
of the older 9255, w/the new features.
