View Full Version : Pioneer DEH-P8400MP
My buddy has a Pioneer DEH-P8400MP and is having problems creating an
MP3 disc. He tried buring 90 MP3 tracks on on CD [in the root folder]
and it only plays around 40. I gave him one of my MP3 cds [5 folders]
that worked in my car stereo and it won't work at all. Does anyone have
any suggestions?
Thanks,
Josh

I have a similar unit.
I have heard of some issues with VBR (Variable Bit Rate) MP3s, but am
not clear whether these units specifically have problems with them.
The only issue I have ever had with MP3s on my unit is that some were
created with v1 ID tags, and the unit appears to prefer v2. So I'd see
tracks that had no visible song title in the unit, but that did show a
title on my computer. I sync'd the tags with some editing software, and
all was well.
I'd approach it from a standard troubleshooting perspective, changing
one variable and trying again. Try different media, a different burner,
etc., to see if you can narrow the failure down a bit.

All 80 files do have the .mp3 extension, right?
