Hi there,

I want to run an auxiliary line into the CD changer port on the back of
the Honda tape deck.
There are companies that sell ready made products for $80-200, like

http://tinyurl.com/zys8b

but I am hoping to do it myself.

I have found a pin diagram for the plug

but I am not sure what lines need to be hot vs not in order to trick the
tape deck into thinking the CD changer is hooked up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

It will be a lot cheaper and simplier to just buy the converter.

See

http://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/search.php?substring=honda+aux

you will have to buy 13 pin cables, solder, etc, and then you have to
figure out the communication protocal, adjust the volume levels, etc
etc. By the time you are done, it will probably cost you in excess of a
prefabricated "well tested" unit.

If it could be made for cheaper, it would already be on the market.

Sorry, I meant 8 pin cables (instead of 13)
