Hi,
Although I know virtually nothing about electrics/electonics/audio
etc., I have had some success in installing a PC in my '97 Range Rover
HSE but need some advice in getting the most out of the PC's audio
output. My bodge would be to wire the PC headphone output into the
merged speaker outputs from the head unit but (obviously) the sound
quality is rubbish and I am picking up all kinds of interference. The
speakers in the Range Rover's Harmon Kardon system have individual amps
so I need to understand more about amps in series and/or preamps.
So, the ISO block in the head unit has 10 wires for the 4 speakers plus
sub and I have 2 wires from my headphone output. How can I connect the
2 wires to the 10 without losing balance/fader control? Can the 2 wires
be split into 10 and joined using some sort of non-return device?
Could/should I hook in an amp or pre-amp?
I apologise for my complete ignorance and hope that you can give me a
couple of suggestions.
Thanks in advance,
Ged P.
