I have a pair of PSB Century 300i speakers (a year or so old, but obviously
an older model) powered by an old NAD receiver on which I play all
different kinds of music (i.e. home theatre is not an issue). I am
considering replacing the Century 300i's with a pair of the newer Century
Image 2B's (my brother will take the Centurys off me for what I payed for
them). My question is: Will this be this in fact an improvement? Are the
newer speakers an improvement sonically speaking on the older ones?
I have heard some reports that the Image series were specifically aimed at
home theatre. Does this imply that they are not as good for just listening
to music on? I am not interested in anything other than as accurate a
represenatation of the original concert or studio recording as possible
(given my budget level.)
