Are you the one who was anxiously waiting for a quote from the Môron ?
Here's a fresh one that Stephen and me picked just for you :

After multiple and repeated transgressions emanating from within their
ranks, yes.

Do you still need more evidences of his moronic generalizations, eh my
doubtful friend ? ;-)

In previous correspondence he distinguished the "real" good Muslims
from the few nasty "unreal" ones.

Let's look at this intelligent and factual generalisation no doubt the
result of a profound study of the present day Islamic trends: I quoted
to him the President of the representative Islamic organisation in
Canada (of all places) who proclaims a virtual fatwa against Islamic
dissenters (and we know how that is understood in Al-Quada Canadian
cells). Lionel did not deign to notice. But he knows; The "few"
setting off bombs at a bus stop or in a supermarket are "unreal". The
crowds cheering the successful toppling of the New York Towers and
frying some 3000 people within them are a little less "few" but still
"unreal". The Iranians who elected a President who promises to "wipe
Israel off the map" while speeding up uranium enrichment program are
more numerous but still unreal because Lionel knows that the said
President wants only to redraw the map and take the 5 millionns
inhabitants to his brotherly bosom. In fact Lionel is just setting out
on a tour of Israel to convince them to always look on the bright side
the way people do in Paris or Marseille.

I very much regret and apologise for delving into history. But I did
not start these threads. And I am sick and tired of reading voices from
old Europe instructing US about its moral and intellectual inadequacy.
What for Lionel is a few textbook pages to me is a vivid memory of nice
people like himself calling Winston Churchill a "warmonger" and asking
that one should not be beastly to the 'real' Germans and the "real"
Soviet citizens while Hitler and Stalin were carving up Poland and our
Entente Cordiale allies sat it out behind Maginot Line of blessed
memory wringing hands.
Yes of course there is plenty of decent Muslims like there were plenty
of decent Germans, Russians and Italians in the thirties. The trouble
is they do not count. Thugs rule. And the "real" folks keep quiet if
they know what is good for them or escape to the degenerate West for
protection. Trying to exhort thugs to be nice makes them despise you
even more for being a white-livered coward.
The absurdity of equating Bush with Osama the way you do: "Bin Laden
like Bush don't need facts, they just need that a lot of people believe
them" reminds me of the generation after generation of nice liberal
apologists for Stalin, Mao, and whatever the name of the Albanian
monster was. In a word cheering for anybody far away enough from home
to be a harmless alternative compared to the threatening reactionaries
at home who will not grant them University tenure. The only way you
could equate Bush and the present state of Islamic reality would be if
the Evangelicals took over the U.S. Congress, Senate, Superior Court
and the Government and began enacting their beliefs about exterminating
infidels- something like in Margaret Atwood's dystopia. As things are
should Jihad progress to threaten the E.U. seriously your diplomats
would soon find their way to the White House because where else could
they go?

I believe there is a number for this: 10% of Muslims worldwide are estimated
to favor of terrorism. This is not a reason to indict the other 90%. But how
many Muslims are hostile to "Western Thought" ? This is another form of
threat. How many Muslims are in favor of "peaceful coexistence? How many
Muslims are willing to sacrifice, ie., behave patriotically to support the
established political systems of their host countries? All of these
questions must be answered to determine the extent to which Islam may be a
threat to our system of existence. To blindly condemn all Muslims is exactly
what the terrorists are doing to us.

We must take care we do not become what we abhor.

More than 90% want a job, a good appointment an interesting plan for
retirement. They want that their children could study at university, they
want a TV with a flat screen...

my purpose was to inpect the sewers of France. Of course,
that means anywhere in France. The smell was bad
enough at CDG, and that is very true. Why
don't you guys bathe more frequently?

Just an illusion Ol' Sackman. It was so clean that for the first time you

For the benefit of those not initiated into the best of Gallic wit
"zzzZzzzzzzzzzzz" is equivalent to "yawn".
It means that Lionel is backing out of the thread he initiated whenever
the going gets hot and instead exchanges quips about penises and
sewers where he feels more at home.
In a way this corresponds with the national performance over the last
70 years.
Italy sends the League of Nations packing and invades Ethiopia.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Hitler and Mussolini provide backing for a Fascist coup in Spain.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ (except for putting the AntiFranco refugees
into camps ready for future pickup by the Nazis)

Hitler partitions Tschechoslovakia
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ (assessment by my then neighbour in Grenoble: "
Eh bien, nous nous sommes degonfles- "Well, so we chickened out")

Nazis invade Poland (France had a solemn alliance with Poland and
signed a guarantee)
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Nazis invade France. It is all over in three weeks. (Warsaw endured a
siege and merciless bombing for seven)
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

The French Parliament (including the socialists- so much for Lionel's
"capitalist-clerical plot")- installs a Nazi friendly Petain
government. French communists busy opposing "the imperialist war"
in solidarity with their Moscow employers' pact with Germany.
Poland partitioned
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

France wants to hold on to the colonies. French Army defeated in
Algeria , then in Vietnam.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Brezhnev invades Hungary and kills the dissident Hungarian communist
leader Nagy
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Now the other side of the ledger. French Secret Service reports a
victory- a bomb successfully planted on a GreenPeace ship.

And French media are victorious everyday criticizing America and
enjoing a heyday over Iraq.
To be serious : Western Europe has every reason to be tired of wars and
want peace and quiet for a change, But making a
necessity into a virtue seems to have become another French gourmet
dish.

What else would you expect from a cowardly Frenchman than to
prostately surrender whenever the going gets rough?

Lionel - like his country - is a great big vulva, ready and willing to

Lionel, the hypnotic dose is carefully measured so that if the ground
starts shaking under your feet you'll be able to wake up and put a
transatlantic call for a third time rescue. Then when you start getting
a new edition of Marshall Aid you'll be awake enough to complain that
it is oh, so crudely, planned and not enough anyway.

It's France here, not California.

Many thanks Ludo, but don't worry I will not hesit...
I don't want to miss the show. It's so nice when the US cavalry arrives just
at the end to rescue the 3 last survivors and their bible. :o)

Mea culpa. I was using a metaphor for brevity. And you showed that
l'esprit Francais" is not dead. Did you have to look through many
issues of "Le Canard enchaine" to find your jokes?
Here is a more pedestrian account. Real life, not a movie.
For brevity skip the first world war. Americans played some part in
that one as well but no matter.
Predominantly American but also British and Polish forces reconquer
France.
As a a special courtesy Patton's armour waits for the French batallion
of De Gaulle/Leclerc- (and let's not forger Hemingway ahead of
everyone)- to lead a cavalry charge into Paris already vacated by the
Germans.
There the fun restarts.

In your childish desire to offend me you are forgetting Canadians...
Oh I see... ! I bet that Canada doesn't belong to Bush coalition in Iraq.
LOL, you are assuredly too easy for me, little Ludo. Don't you have a
friend to help you ? ;-)

PS : thank to segregation in the US army the US Black population has
been fairly spared at this time, just a few of them have participated to
the campaign of France.
What a "democratic liberation" army !!! :-)
