I have a 90 Eagle Talon that had that had a horrible 4 inch radio in it. I
have replaced it with an Alpine head unit and used a Metra 99-7001 dash kit
to make it fit. Unfortunately these means the 2 inchs below the radio is
blank now. Does anyone know of a pocket I could get that I could put in the
bottom 2 inches of space in place of the blank panel?
Thanks
Greg

Did you retain the original brackets and pocket,
or did the original radio occupy the entire opening?

Often the ones with pockets are different mounting kits altogether, not
a pocket that is added to the mounting kit. So one or the other when you
purchase it. You can call up a couple local dealers and see if they have
one with a pocket and purchase it or get a part number and do an online
search.

If you had the Double DIN unit in there before
You will probably need to go to the dealer and
get the pocket and the trim panel with the
divider in the middle. I think the metal mounting
brackets are the same for both types factory units
(single and double DIN)

Contact Crutchfield - they have a variety of mounting kits, and they
may well have one for the double-DIN opening in your Talon that has a
pocket in the lower portion, rather than just a blank plate.

The original radio was a 4 din unit.
I have been searching online but no one seems to have a bracket like I want.
The car is too old for anyone to be doing much with it now Oh well, I can
live with the spacer.
Thanks
