In recent weeks, a variety of new ABC/HR versions and tools have
sprung up.

There is now an excellent ABC/HR version for Java, written by
schnofler, here:

www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~bkuckuck/abchr-java.zip

Some of the advantages of this version over my original Windows
version:

1. Cross platform
2. Optional encryption of config and results files
3. Optional correction of time offsets
4. Playback position indicator
5. Looping
6. Able to disable quick switching
7. Quick ABX setup (don't need to set up an entire ABC/HR test to use
ABX features)
8. There is an automatic volume and time offset correction in the
quick ABX section (not yet incorporated into the ABC/HR section).

If there is one disadvantage of the Java version, it is that there is
a small delay between the time the listener presses a button and when
switching occurs. However, this is mitigated by the fact that the
actual interruption of sound is very close to nil.

Carsten Haese has written a cross-platform ABC/HR version designed for
GNU/Linux here:

Thomas Schumm (phong) has written an ABC/HR results parser ("Chunky")
in python here:
