made me think of.
Barb G ):
Hi all.... this is interesting and very informative. These are my
observations, after years on the web.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The way to anticipate internet emotional vampires is by knowing how
they've acted in the past. Chances are pretty good that they'll do the
same thing continually. The big mistake you can make with emotional
vampires is assuming, without proof, that though their record has been
bad in the past, that they have learned their lesson, and will do
better
with YOU.
When you deal with emotional vampires, always ask yourself what you're
trying to accomplish and why. ?If you're not sure, don't do anything
until you've thought about it carefully. They maybe worth it, maybe
not.
STICK TO THE TRUTHS ABOUT THEM:
Internet Emotional vampires are compulsive and habitual (bad at it
too)
liars. They will tell you anything and everything they think you want
to
hear in order to keep you in their clutches.
They are born charmers, and are very convincing. They use seduction
with
reckless abandon with no conscience.
They believe they are the guru in your life. They secretly claim to be
in love with a string of people simultaniously, but in fact, love no
one. Attention is their main goal, by using feined bombastic words of
"love" to make you stay with them. Quanity, not quality is their M.O.
They are warped attention seekers. They are not who they say they are.
Any pictures you get from them are most likely not the same person you
are dealing with on the internet.
PAY ATTENTION TO ACTIONS,
NOT WORDS:
What internet vampires say is often very different from what they do.
To
avoid being drained, always focus on what they do, not what they say.
The are self serving hypocrites. ?
THEY ARE EMOTIONLESS:
Internet Emotional vampires will never confess, not even to the
obvious.
When confronted about their behavior, they typically get ugly and
insulting. They will always, blame you for what they do. And they will
make weak attempts to convince you that you are wrong about them and
should feel ashamed. They play mindless guilt trips on you especially
when cornered. They play people you have in common with, against
eachother to keep them from comparing notes.
IGNORE TANTRUMS
When internet vampires don't get their way, they throw tantrums. They
always change the topic unto you. They will resort to under the belt
name calling and transparent finger pointing, whose only purpose is to
get you to give in.
KNOW YOUR OWN LIMITS
Dealing with Internet Emotional Vampires requires a lot of effort.
?They may be worth it, they may not. ?Only you can decide. However,
keep in mind that these people are very convincing , seductive and
should be taken with a grain of salt, until you turn blue in your face
or have reached reasonable conclusions, then acting on them. Which
ever
comes 1st.
Some are worth trying to reach,
however, most are not. It's your call.
Just a wee bit of insight into the world of internet players. Barb
made me think of.
