I would like to replace the factory-installed
Cd player. I found better cost/choices of receivers
at Crutchfield than local best buy or circuit city,
(who would include free-installation w/ purchase
but additional ~$40 for adapter)

What is a reasonable cost I should expect from local
auto/audio shops to install for me if I bring them receiver
+ installation kit?

(Crutchfield has pre-paid card for professional installing
for around %55, but locations are not too close to me)

Thank you.

Cost of installation usually depends on the part of the country your from
and local competition.
Installation could cost $25-$75 dollars.
Some shops may not use the kits you provide an may also insist on you
purchasing there kits also.
You may be better off buying from a Circuit City or Best buy with free
installation and buying the kits.
the main advantage to this is if your unit has a problem they can replace it
there on the spot. But if you buy it from Crutchfield
or other place, they will have to remove it so you can send it back. some
place may charge you again to reinstall it when you get another.
So ask questions of local shops on there warranty work 1st
