Recurring eye problem

There must be something wrong with my eyes. Every time I go to check
out RAO all I get is this peculiar effect:

Is it macular degeneration? Should I be booking in for corrective
surgery?

many times. Not to worry! Give your eyes a rest, by following the simple
procedure:
1. Turn the monitor on its side
2. Read up and down for a while.

In no time your muscles will relax. Now, take our simple test:

Close your eyes. Good.
I flash this card:
What do you see? You see nothing? Good. That's what you're supposed to see.
Now I flash this card: Robert Morein. Tell me what you see.
You say you see erudite criticism of a tale told by an idiot, all sound and
fury, signifying nothing?
Very good! I pronounce you cured.
That will be $100 au.
Don't forget, you have a checkup appointment in one sidereal hour. We don't
