My hesitation with the Audio U2 is its seemingly non replaceable
battery. Anyone compare the sound quality of the above? I don't
understand the iRiver units..which is the top of the line flash based 1
Gig unit? Compare to the other two from Creative and iAudio? PLEASE no
simplistic brand bashing or extolling. I want to know about these
specific units. Thank you!

Can't help you with the Nano
The Zen Touch (40g) battery lasts about 18 to 30 hours and
the full recharge time is 3 to 4 hours, based on the two I have.
Sound quality is bass shy. The supplied phones are not as
bad as I expected.

These are to completely different units. The Creative Zen Nano is a
flash memory player, not hard drive based. Thank you anyway.

It might help if you could post web links for each product. That would
make it easier to compare them.
You might also try using Google.com to search for previous newsgroup
and web comments and reviews of these products.
