View Full Version : Who wants to lend me a Shakti Stone?

Robert Morein
September 23rd 05, 04:57 PM
I'm all set up to test the ability of a Shakti stone to modify the magnetic
field in the vicinity of the stone.
This would be done with a Litz-wound ferrite rod, and a Tektronix 7904
oscilloscope with a 7A22 plugin.

There must be someone, who having purchased a Shakti stone, has come to the
conclusion it is useless.
I will return the stone to the lender in the condition it was received. No
invasive procedures will be performed.

If you promise not to duck when I throw one.

I'm willing to stipulate that in some sense this is true.

Now, what?

I would be willing to lend you one if you can pick it up in Manhattan.
My other stipulation is that you acknowledge that my only role in this
is to provide the sample.

Nonsensical nonsequitur noted.

I don't think that a stipulation would be acceptable to the audience at
large, but if you wish to make a statement regarding your own experiments on
the Stone, it would be additive to the discussion.

Whatever the results are, they will doubtless be subject to intepretation by
some and dismissal by others.

I wonder if any of the r.a.o. participants actually believe the Stone works.
For some, such as Middius, the issue may be freedom of choice, or freedom to
enjoy.

Scott, your statement is both an incorrect interpretation, as well as a
gratuitous insult.
It surprises me that you would deliberately make a comment devoid of
constructive potential, considering your passionate defense of people who
are "special". Sanctimonious to the core, you prefer to occupy a rotating
bully pulpit. You are a very ordinary person, and you vastly overestimate
your own intellectual capacity.

Why are you bringing me into this? I've never even seen one of those
paperweights.

If you're hinting at the class warfare thing, I don't give a damn what
somebody sells and somebody else buys. If I were clever enough to
manufacture a gimmick like the Shakti and get some reviewers to chime in,
I'd also be clever enough to make money doing something productive.

Not my fault you're stupid enough to propose a test from which no
conclusions can be drawn.

I asked a simple question. For all your supposed intellect you
wouldn't or couldn't answer it.
Instead you're a bloviating old bag of hot air who likes to brag about
his antique o-scope. But hey... George likes you so you can't be all
bad.

Anyway... for all your pompous frothing about... I will let you try to
redeem yourself...

What will your proposed test prove?

You want to go down in history as the man who tested the Shakti Stone?
It would be like trying to give a rock an IQ test and the stone should
have more sense than to waste time with you. I would not let you press
the tits on a duracell battery to test it, you will note.

Scott, the only Stone available to me is a loan from Kal. I cannot transfer
it to anyone; I must return it directly to him. However, I encourage you to
investigate the Stone in whatever ways you wish. A simple gaussmeter is not
likely to be revealing. An audio component is surrounded by a complex hash
of EMF, which the meter cannot analyze.

Scott, choose your friends carefully. I get the impression that you are some

Scott, I suggest you adopt Mikey and make him your own "project."
Do a good deed. Try to help Mikey reach his full potential.
Maybe you can teach him to wear clothes and play ping pong.

Dave, Try to stop your moral base from spinning as you flounder for RAO
points. It will really help you from continuously stumbling into hypocrisy.

That sounds like everyone here (except me of course)
If we weren't ignorant, we'd be somewhere else.

Is it impossible for you to understand that Krell is like many other
manufacturers, making great gear. Krell simply overbuilds to ridiculous
extremes. It doesn't make their gear sound different, it just tends to last
longer.

Did it slip your mind that one of the amplifiers I own is an Acoustat 120?
Can you get your head around the fact that it could't be differentiated from
a Pioneer reciever?

Your own adherence to Auido mythology is shameful, given the fact that you
should know better.

You kids are ridiculous. Does the phrase, "lose, lose" mean anything to
you?

Mikey - you've already admitted that other possibilities exist. The fact
that you keep a closed mind is shameful.

My mind is not closed. If you or anyone else has some evidence to present,
do so.
