As it happens, I find Krueger less offensive than Trotsky, even if,
paradoxically, I would more willingly have spent time spinning CDs in
Trotsky's store than in Krueger's house.

Krueger is a religious crusader, with the stridency of a Wahabi.
He trys to convert by the sword.
He is a religious fanatic, and has suffered considerably by his devotion.
In this regard, he is an interesting character study.
One could argue with Krueger for days, and he'll come back with charts,
figures, tables, and wav samples.
He is a dangerous opponent.

Trotsky has nothing but a box with two holes, two Chinese drivers, and a
website with a gay guy.
All I can do is nuke him and watch the mushroom cloud with delight.

To drop Chinese drivers in a box and call it high-end audio is a travesty of
what the finest makers actually do.
Even if you are antipathetic toward the quantitative, a lot of design work
has to be done that way, before the subjective adjustments are made.

I believe that in some cases, the web, and newsgroups such as these, can
help establish a business.
However, it would appear that both Singh and Krueger engage in
self-destructive behavior.
Given the highly liberal attitude of the mental health establishment, both
are probably poorly adjusted individuals, but not insane. McCarty, on the
other hand, is actually a compulsive, to the extent that it would probably
be recognized as a diagnosis.

Krueger is crazy. I choose that term because it also has a colloquial
meaning of "off center."
It saddens me because he actually knows a lot. He simply suffers from what
L. Sprague DeCamp called the "right man syndrome", ie., a male-domination
syndrome whereby the afflicted believes he is always right. Krueger's case
fits the syndrome to a T, and is very similar to the profile of religious
zealots and political extremists. DeCamp believed that the great dictators
of history suffered from "right man."

I do not know what Krueger's beliefs are in other domains. If Krueger
suffers from "right man" only with respect to hi-fi, it is a minor
abberation. On the other hand, if it carries through to all the domains of
his life, then he would, as you claim, be truely insane.

Strangely, being insulted by a religious zealot like Krueger bothers me
little compared to the malignant pettiness of Greg Singh. I have seen him
try to tear opponents down, without any clear objective. It was such a
pleasure to target this arthropod just when he was molting.

High End Of Audio" is a marketing concept and there will always be one.

The amazing thing was that I was spot on when I told you that your
comments on speakers were exactly like people that judge a movie by

This bit, for instance, is a likable little non-denial denial. In
your mind, Singh's success would be both wildly unlikely and
repugnant; at the same time, you realistically allow for the
possibility that you won't get the satisfaction of helping sweep the

cigarette companies. Kitty litter is, as you should know, one of

BTW, I have read most of Philip K. Dick's novels and some of his
short stories, but they didn't make a great impression on me. I
finished his entire oeuvre before I graduated high school.

I haven't pretended that it is anything other than it is. From my very
first post, which outlined my various gear, I've been up-front about
the gear that I own. And yes, in the subsequent years, it wouldn't be
considered unusual to have some equipment failures.

I'd hardly consider Cornwalls to be "cheap speakers". They're
certainly more expensive than any of *your* cheap speakers.
