View Full Version : Question About Early JVC Boombox (1980)

June 23rd 05, 09:10 PM
Hi.

If there's anybody with some knowledge of the JVC line of portables
from 1980, here's a question.

Was there a model RC-M707 with emphasis on home recording?

I'm familiar with the RC-M70; but a recent Cooper Owen auction lists
the M707, and I can find no description of such a model anywhere else.
Has anyone heard of it?

Thanks.

Most all boom boxes from back then would at least need some service by now -
belts, lubrication, clean controls and internal switches, etc.

The RC in question was once owned, verifiably, by John Lennon in Summer
1980.

See Lot 114 on Page 17 for May 25, 2005 --

It would be a wonder if it still functioned as new, but its real value
lies elsewhere.
