Hi all,

My eyes have been opened by a friend to the VAF speaker range....an
australian company that you have to order exclusive from their South
Australia factory..

Can anyone give me any feedback on them. They look nice, the quality is
meant to be exceptional.....

I had them on a short list with Whatmough, KEF, Dali

You really should be discussing this in an Australian group
like aus.hi-fi or aus.audio-visual.home-cinema where people
have direct experience with them.

So to answer your question I have heard their range and even
toured the factory with the owner Philip Vafiadas who is a
very smart cookie and knows his stuff. They are a very good
product based in South Australia. They come in kits or
pre-assembled. What you need to do is work out what you
want the speakers for (HT, Stereo music, bookshelf etc),
what size room you have and what your budget is. Then the
only question is what are you going to use to drive them
with.

Now I see from your IP address you are in Sydney
(Sutherland?) so someone a lot closer would be
http://www.equinoxaudio.com.au/
they are located in Vineyard out near Richmond. The owner
Rick is a great guy to deal with and may be able to help you
with your purchases and arrange for an in home demo.

So I hope this helps.

Thanks for that actually i am from Windsor...so that place is only 5 minutes
drive...so that i can do this weekend.

I was unaware of Australian pages, so i have been checking these ones out
for a few weeks.....

LIke i said i like the look of KEF's and they seem to rate well, i just want
to hear them, and then compair them to the VAF's...two mates of mine have
the VAF's and they say they are extremely good value for money....I just
hope the amp budget i had assigned of 1000 is enough...as i was planning on
getting the ONKYO SR602 for its multi zone at a cheap price. I know teh
oNKYo does very well with teh KEF's as i have heard this numerous times in
reviews.

I have answered some of your posts in aus.hi-fi. I have
contacted Rick at Equinox and suggested he contact you. He
is a very nice genuine guy and his gear is pretty good to.
So organising a home demo would be very easy. In your price
range you need to hear the Aphelions.
