View Full Version : Small speaker recomendation for boat

Hello:

New here. Hope my ignorance is overlooked. I have a boat and want
tunes. In the 70s my best friend managed a high end audio shop. The
listening room was in a basement................ I got real spoiled on
equipment that I could never afford, and 35 years later still can't. I
like accurate sound.

So here comes the question: I'll use brackets to mount the speakers on
a 3/4" thick teak marine grade plywood bulkhead. The "wall" measures
about 11' wide and 6' tall. Total listening room is about 11'x6'x12'.
There's lots of foam cushioned seating so the room is fairly soft/dead.
Speakers should be no larger than
H18"xW9"xD7". I'll be using 12vDC to power an AM/FM/CD player. Need to
keep it under $500 a pair.

What do you recommend?

Also, the waterproof/marine/outdoor stuff is not needed. The boat
floats.

If the boat floats on salt water, I would stick to marine grade
speakers nevertheless.
