Me and my friend are searching for some quality CD's that demonstrate some
"really" low bass. Songs down in 20-30 hz area. We went through both of our
collections (about 600 CD's) and most songs we always thought had deep bass,
really didnt go down that far and actually were in the 50 hz area. We were
searching for something low like in the U-571 movie. Actually one of the
betters one's we had was Pink Floyd Dark Side heartbeat intro, 40 years old
for goodness sakes. I thought Wish you were here" by Floyd had some deep
stuff throughout, as well as a few Remixes of Madonna stuff but we were
wrong. Also I remember Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield, and the song
Somewhere by Streisand; but was disappointed by those.
A gut rumbling, sofa moving, neighbors complaining low friggin bass.
Don't worry, his Clair Brother designed, Dual Isobaric Eminence 18"
subwoofers, ATI amp powered bass module will play it.
Lets hear what you guys / gals sugggest

You can find several CD with extreme low bass. Here is some title:
Illegal Bass from Bass Outlaw
Ultimate Low Bass Cd from Granite
Saint-Saens Symphony No.3 Organ "Poco Adagio" *16Hz* (I love this one)
Moussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition
The Jean Guillou Organ CD from Dorian
With those title I'm pretty sure that your neigbourgs will hate you. ;-)

Here are some recomendations I found.
Bass Outlaws: Illegal Bass [Newtown NTN2210]. Track 12 features
ultra-loud bass in the low to sub 20Hz range.
Enya: Watermark [Geffen 242332-3]. Track 10, "The Longships," features
bass from 20Hz to the low 30s.
Hindemith: Organ Works [Argo 417 159-2]. Track 5 at 4:45 features a
19Hz note that is 6dB louder than the highest level anywhere else on
the disc.
Mendelssohn: Organ Works [Argo 414 420-2]. Extremely loud 19Hz tones on
track 8 -- proceed with caution!
Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition [Dorian DOR 90117]. Tracks 5 and
15 feature the best bass.
Prokofiev: Alexander Nevsky [London 410 164-2]. 25Hz bass from the
lowest-tuned conventionally-sized bass drum.
Reference Recordings HDCD Sampler[RR-S3CD]. Tracks 1 and 3 feature
tight and gut-shaking drum strokes without overhang.
Respighi: Pines of Rome [London 410 145-2]. Track 4 at 1:22 and 2:29
features a pure 22Hz tone.
Saint-Saens: Organ Symphony [Philips 412 619-2]. Nine minutes into
track 2 features deep bass down to16Hz.
Star Tracks II [Telarc CD80146]. Track 2 features extremely deep bass
about one minute into the track.
Thom Rotella Band [DMP CD-650]. One minute into track 12 features a
bass guitar solo that illustrates superb bass transients.
Jennifer Warnes: The Hunter [Private Music 01005-82089-2]. Tracks 8 and
9 feature loud, tight mid to low bass.
The Ruffatti Organ in Davis Symphony Hall [Telarc CD80097]. Tracks 1
and 11 feature sub-20Hz bass.
Remember to start slow, bass notes take lots of power. If you have
less than 600 watts, you can easily bottom out if you're not careful.

The best bass drum yet recorded, IMHO: my teacher Frederick Fennell and
the Cleveland Symphonic Winds playing the Holst and Handel on Telarc.
Also the same forces and label playing Fucik's "Florentiner" on "Stars
and Stripes". If the gear and room can handle those, they are good.
You should be able to hear the air come out of the drum and plow through
your gut! :-)

Well, the lowest string in a bass guitar is 42 Hz, IIRC.

I was listening to that today. But at low volume.
