Pompus windbag

[Trevor Wilson]

I note that in another thread, Howard Ferstler has referred to me as a
"pompous windbag". Whilst this may (possibly) be true, does anyone else see
this as a 'pot, kettle, black' kind of thing?

I stress that he actually had the temerity to call me a pompous windbag,
whilst attempting to tell me that I was incorrect in the field of circuit
analysis. A risky thing for Mr Ferstler to do, considering I did, actually
spend quite some time studying the topic at college. I would be interested
in knowing Mr Ferstler's qualifications as they pertain to circuit analysis.
Am I correct in assuming that he has no idea about the topic?

It could be construed as pompous to quote your qualifications in support
of an argument.

As for spending 'quite some time' studying circuit analysis,
I recall that some pupils never quite grasped the concept of Ohm's law.

It's another example of Howard's Goldilocks syndrome: anyone who knows
less than he does is ignorant; anyone who knows more is overeducated.

Ferstler is like that, he talk the talk but sadly never could walk the walk.
In a way, I feel sorry for his visceral organs and body parts which are
enslave to his, and oppress by his defective and mangled mind.

Harold aspires to be thought of as pompous. Pompous, as a descriptive word,
tends to imply a knowledge of the subject at hand. I'd say twittery describes
Clerkie's natterings better because they're empty and voluminous and they are as
quickly forgotten as uttered.

As far as you being pompous, all that accusation means is that Harold is
frustrated at being shown up by somebody more knowledgeable. This is a tactic
Harold uses very often. He labels everybody who doesn't buy into his religious
dogma with a few silly smears. It means nothing to a Normal person.

Ohm's Law is pretty basic stuff in the scheme of circuit analysis.

area I actually am reasonably well-versed in. I would NEVER,
f'rinstance, challenge Mr Ferstler in the Dewey Decimal System. I know
my limits. I also know my strengths. MR Ferstler has known me for long

It is pompous as hell for you to do a "circuit analysis"
without a hands-on approach. The fact is that all of us were
speculating about the individual's problems with his amp.

As for you being a pompous windbag, I still with my claim.
Your past statements about amp and wire "sound" practically
define pomposity in audio.
