Im getting a new in dash unit soon and want to know any good/bad
expiriences you guys have had. I have an Alpine which is starting to
die. What I want is MP3, CD, and at least 2 preouts. Im looking in
the $300-$400 range and I'm considering Sony, Alpine, or clarion and
I'm going to hook up my 500 watt amp to it. So tell me what is good
and whats not. Thanks guys.

Out of the three you listed, do not buy Sony. Sony makes poor audio
equipment. Alpine and Clarion make some really good units. I think Alpine
is a little more spendy than others out ther. If it were me, I would choose
the Alpine. I will be buying a new one here soon too.

That's funny.
Care to elaborate?

What about SOny is not good? Bad MP3 support? Or just bad quality
overall? I'm looking at mostly using the unit for mp3 and some cd

Truth is, anyone can have good/bad experiences with any of the brand names
you suggested. There's no real good answer other than to say choose the one
that has the best features that matter to you. Saying Sony makes poor
equipment is just a very uneducated comment. Ignore it.
