View Full Version : Too *much* power?

No such thing, right?
;-)
Just trying to get a little advice. I'm putting the following into a
2003 Nissan 350Z:
Kenwood DDX7015 Head Unit
Kenwood Sirius tuner
Kenwood 20 GB Music Keg
JL Audio Stealthbox
JL Audio VR650 component and coaxial speakers
JL Audio 500/1 Amp
JL Audio 300/4 Amp
Are those amps "too much"? I'll be honest: I'm not really looking for
a system to blow the windows out of the car. On the other hand, I
know the speakers can take the power, and there's always the volume
knob...

Well, it doesn't sound like "too much", but you didn't say what size sub
you'll be powering with the 500/1. It doesn't really matter though,
because as you said, "there's always the volume knob". Watts are fairly
cheap these days, so you'll probably be happier buying more than you
strictly need and just not turning up the volume all the way.

The JL Audio stealthbox for the Z has a pair of 10w3v2-D4s.

Sounds like a great setup, Samuel!

Then no, I don't think those amps are overkill at all. Let us know how it
sounds when you get everything installed.
