I have met him and he is a good guy. I like him. What your collective bent
about this guy is I do not understand. Arnie is a good guy and does not
deserve the bashing any group has given him.

Nope, just a guy who has met Arnie. Back off. He's a dude who has been there
and back. I had lunch with him. He is a fine gentleman, and I would love to
see you all bring yourselves up to his level of discourse.

Of course, commenting on real experience, compared to your constant
barrage of name calling and filth, makes him crazy.
Do you plan to be a pig forever, George?

George isn't a pig. Depending on your tastes he could be a hole or a
punching ball. I'm afraid that he was both for his father.

Joe,
Apparently, Arny can present a different persona in person as opposed to
over usenet. On this group, Arny thinks a whole bunch of people want to
"destroy him":
http://groups-beta.google.com/groups?as_q=&num=10&scoring=r&hl=en&as_epq=destroy+me&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_ugroup=&as_usubject=&as_uauthors=Arny+Krueger&lr=&as_drrb=q&as_qdr=&as_mind=1&as_minm=1&as_miny=1981&as_maxd=27&as_maxm=5&as_maxy=2005&safe=off
I'm on the list myself, though it has not yet been archived. This is
tragic; a man following the path of pseudo-science arrives at the door of
mental illness.
You may not realize it, but Arny is no friend of your fondness for tubes.
Apparently, in person, he doesn't try to hurt people. On this newsgroup, he
does.
I think, Joe, that if Arny behaved on this newsgroup the way he did at lunch
with you, no one would have a problem with him. The discord is not about his
beliefs, it's about how he acts, here, with us.

Do you want to be called a pedophile? Maybe you don't really know
Arny's level of discourse on RAO all that well.

Well, people who have been telling each other for years how marvellous the
sound is when they are wearing their expensive designer Stereo Suits don't
like it when someone points out they've got no clothes on.
Tim
"Enhance your listening experience with the Audio Air Purifier. The air in
your listening room is contaminated with air-born dust particles. When you
consider just how fine are the human hearing receptors, it's easy to
understand how airborn polluction can result in murky bass and dull treble.
The Audio Air purifier uses space age technology to get your air really
clean. A constant velocity direct-drive low-inductance fan draws air
through a carefully-graduated series of everr-finer hepa filters, before
finally passing the air over an electrostatic particle remover. When you
first install the Audio Air Purifier, it will take several days for it to
clean your room to audiophile standards; but yoiur patiences will be
rewarded after a few days, hen you will at last hear the sound as intended."

Has Middius ever called someone a pedophile over a disagreement on
audio?

Krooger *is* a pedophile. That's stating a fact, not calling someone names.

That is one interpretation of his conflicting stories. I think he made
that whole thing up so I think he is just full of **** and disgusting
on a very base level. I don't believe he is an actual pedophile.
Frankly I find that interpretation of those events, events Arny
created, to be very wrong. Still, It's my opinion that he is the source
of all the **** that surrounds him on RAO. And like any monkey, he is a
flinger.

No, Scott is that stupid. Remember that Middius might be the
one who talked Scott into filing that bogus libel suit

Given that I was once a charter subscriber to Stereophile...
;-)
However, it was a different magazine and when I subscribed,
it had not published any issues, yet.
The JGH Strerephile was a very different magazine. It was in
the 1960s and in those days a lot of audio components, did
in fact sound different from each other.

The sad thing is that you have lied to yourself so many times about the lawsuit
that you now believe your own Kroopaganda. Try this true-or-false quiz:
1. Scott Wheeler filed a defamation lawsuit against you in California.
__ T __ F
2. Scott Wheeler stated that filing the lawsuit was not his own idea but someone
else's.

3. The case was decided in the plaintiff's favor by the judge.

4. The judgment expired because Mister Wheeler did not provide required

5. The judgment was overturned because you, Arnii Krooborg, successfully argued

No. That goes back to all that crap Arny stirred up when he was
accusing other posters of sending him kiddie porn, Wasn't about a
disagreement over audio at all. You didn't know that?

The irritating part is that that the technical sides of some
reviews are actually pretty good. In almost every case,
Atkinson has something to do with the technical work.

I see, you are going to ignore the long standing fued over Arny
accusing other posters of sending him kiddie porn. I don't agree with
people calling Arny a pedophile over that mess he made. I prefer just
to call him a sleazy liar. But *thta8 is the reason Middius says what
he says. It was never a shot at Arny out of the blue over some
disagreement on audio. Arny made his bed on that one with some really
****ed up bogus accusations. But if you guys want to ignore that
history that is your choice.

Yes, that too is false. You had nothing to do with the outcome of the lawsuit.
You sat on your feces-encrusted hands, cowering in your crumbling basement and
inhaling sewage fumes while your fate was being decided out in California. Then
you got lucky as hell when Mister Wheeler let the lawsuit lapse rather than
fulfilling the red-tape requirements. Lucky, lucky, lucky. Lazy, lazy, lazy.

I proved you were lying again. That's about 2,000 times so far this year. Sadly,
I don't think that's close to your record.
Why don't you accuse Mister Wheeler of pedophilia a few more times? It's a
"given" that he doesn't care enough to punish you for it. How many "debating
trade" points do you win when you make a nasty accusation and aren't punished
for it?

You are wrong Mr. Middius. Uncle Arny is a very gentle man who has
taught me a lot of fun pleasurable things and helped my family since I
was 11. He even had my mother's car fixed when it broke down and bought
us a washer and a dryer. It is mean and hurtful to say those things
about Arny, Mr. Middius and I want you to say your sorry because you're
just jealous. littleboyblue

Hehe. There's obviously a ton of latent comic talent on RAO.

I agree. Churchill said that the truth is so valuable that
it needs a cloak of lies. Atkinson seems to have turned that
around and works on the principle that lies are so
profitable that they need a cloak of truth.

Supporting his position by relating experience, how devious!
He cunningly anticipated the debate by publishing the story in 1989.

The experience itself paints a pretty nasty picture of
Atkinson. It has acceptance of weak proof painted all over
it.

Who cares how long it took? JGH and Stereophile were open to ABX and
more-or-less accepted its premises at face value.
Do you harbor a grudge, blaming Stereophile for somehow preventing mass
consumer acceptance of an ABX product?

And Atkinson came along and changed things for _business_ reasons. By
Holt's own admission, he never made much money with S'phile. Under
Larry Archibald and Atkinson, the mag morphed from a publication that
tried to serve it's readership to one that delivered up it's readership
to the advertisers. IOW, Stereophile became $tereopile. That was great
for the business interests, not so good for the readership.

I find the following (from your reference) to be quite
ironic:
"To my continuing regret, J. Gordon Holt left Stereophile in
1999 for what he perceived to be greener pastures. But it is
my pleasure to announce that Art Dudley, until recently
editor of the now-defunct Listener magazine, will be joining
our extended family as a reviewer and columnist with the
January 2003 issue."
Comparing JGH to someone who I find to be a certifiable
crazy like Dudley is quite a thing to behold.

enough about what components sounded like.
Sure, it was a long road, but so was JA's.

Let's not forget that JGH praised ABX as "the first significant
contribution to the audio field in years" some 20+ years *after* he
founded Stereophile. Clearly, JGH believed in listening both sighted
and blind. That's good for consumers, not so good for advertisers.

Unfortunately, JA's road has changed Stereophile into $tereopile. IOW,
the magazine is now just the kind of advertiser driven magazine that
led Holt to found the original Stereophile as an alternative in the
first place.

More specifically, JGH realized that in the late 1950s. It
seems that the radical subjectivists would like us to
believe that nothing changed related to measurements in the
past 50 years.
However, my quote shows that the most important motivator
for JGH in those days was not the then-retarded state of
measurements, but the way that advertisers changed editorial
policy in their favor.

JGH saw that DBTs could shed a lot of light on audio
controversies. JA seems to have realized that resolving
those controversies would have serious negative impact on
enough SP advertisers to hurt the magazine financially.
>> Sure, it was a long road, but so was JA's.
It seems like JA had too much formal education in hard
science to beg off on the grounds of ignorance. However, the
means that he used to resolve the apparent contradiction
between DBTs and his own listening perceptions looks pretty
much like an abandoment of science.

Agreed. It appears that eventually the JA-induced stink got
too much for JGH, so he ended up abandoning his offspring
because it had become too unruly and painful.

Yeah, and I was a charter subscriber. I must have signed up
in 1962 or 1963. I seem to recall still getting new issues
related to that "1 year" subscription when I was in
Germany - 1969 or so.
Holt's concept of audio's high end is the one that I apply
to this day - higher quality products that probably cost
quite a bit more, but provide exceptional real-world audible
performance.
So much for the current Sterephile's spew of promotions for
snake oil and other overpriced products that seem to have no
audible advantages.

Are you posting this in rebuttal? I fail to see where it succeeds as
such. Clearly, JGH objected to the influence of advertisers on the
content of reviews.
Project for today: tally up the number of negative reviews in the
Atkinson era. Then go see how many non-advertisers products make the
RCL.
Have fun!

It's more likely, using criteria that you've used when discussing
Rupert Neve's comments about analog vs. digital, that he just became
too aged to tell the difference between components. That would be far
more likely, right?

'Spew' implies most products in Stereophile meet that description. Since
I don't get to hear overkill products, it's fun to read about them.
Personally, the only ultra high end stuff I've heard (Quads aside) is
the Linn CD12 and Linn switching amps, unless you count the Bad Brains
cd that has a couple of tracks mastered from Fremer's vinyl rig.
'Over-priced' is a valid opinion, but not a universal one.

Gordon resigned as a Stereophile employee in 1999 for
a number of reasons, some to do with his compensation
package, others to do with his strong feeling that
the magazine should abandon coverage of 2-channel
audio components and recordings in favor of multi-
channel playback. Gordon was offered a position
at The Absolute Sound to write about that subject,
but that didn't pan out the way he expected. He left
that magazine at the end of 2003.
Gordon is basically retired these days. He has also
been having some health problems but currently
appears to be okay. We stay in touch. He still feels
that I made a strategic error in not changing
Stereophile along the lines he wanted in 1999.

Certain opinions don't need specific supporting evidence because the foundation
is blatantly obvious. Your ****fulness is one such thing. It's so obvious that
even somebody with a profound case of Kroopologism recognizes it.
Of course, your utter lack of self-awareness prevents you from recognizing what
is blazingly apparent to virtually everybody else. However, I think that even
you, Arnii "****-for-Brains" Krooborg, aka Arnii the Kroomonkey, Flinger of
Feces, realize deep down that you're a dirty piece of work. Look at your
favorite way of deflecting criticism: You always try to smear your accuser with
the same aspersion. IOW, your only excuse is that you're not the only one who
behaves badly. And you offer the same weak, whiney, self-pitying crapola to
everybody who criticizes you. This constitutes a pattern of behavior.
At this juncture, you'll dredge up something about me to complain about. Yes, I
call you names, and compare you to turds, and malign your family, and mock your
pomposity. I do all those things, and it doesn't bother me (much). But I don't

Normal happy people stalk others around Usenet.

Amazing. Arny graciously admitted error after consulting references.
More typically Arny is the "training wheels" comment which seems humble
enough, but it comes in answer to being accused of holding himself up as
an expert. I guess he learned that from RAP.
OTOH, while not picking up on "FOH" is kinda slow, if one is working in
isolation from sound professionals, one can make mistakes like that.

You need to realise that FOH is a VERY common term when talking about live
sound and is used in many posts on the newsgroup daily.
Arny had been posting there for FIVE YEARS before he made that post.
He's now trying to tell us he is vastly over-qualified to do live sound
because he has an engineering degree. He did try to claim he had a masters
degree at one point then made the admission he never actually finished the
course.

Hey, someone mentioned how popular you were on this newsgroup. Seems people
just love you all over usenet. Doesn't that tell you anything Arny?
> Phildo is just ****sed that over on AAPLS I made an allusion

Now this is what ****es me off about Arny. He makes a thinly-veiled,
cowardly attack where he mentions no specific names although everyone knows
who he is talking about then acts all innocent when pulled up on it. He also
tries to pass ghimself off as an expert but in reality knows jack **** about
live sound and only gets to use a mixing desk because he volunteers at his
church where nobody else wants the job. Now he's trying to tell us he's done
sound for Dave Brubeck and the Village People.

Or rather they pointed out what a coward you were for not using the name
even though it was patently obvious who you were talking about (me) and then
pulled you up because what you said was indeed completely wrong.

Arny, you need serious professional health. Please get yourself to a shrink

By the way, you also need to know that Arny had been trying to pass himself
off as an expert in live sound for FIVE YEARS on this newsgroup when he made

central to many posts.

Doesn't matter. It's a basic term for anyone who is involved in live sound
and he tried to pass himself off as an expert for 5 years without even
knowing the basics. It's like someone saying they can fly a plane when they
don't know where the cockpit is.

You should know it's bad netiquette to do that Arny. Anyway, I shall try and

We're not attacking you Arny. You are mentally ill and we are trying to get
you the help you so desperately need.
If you could admit the problem to yourself it would be a good start but
sadly you won't so we have to go to your friends to see if they can do
something. Maybe have you committed or get you to a psychiatrist, just until
you get well again.
You seeing it as an attack speaks volumes about how you know you have a
problem but cannot face dealing with it yourself. It's time to get help

Arny, go back and read your posts over the last couple of days. It should
become very evident to anyone who does that you are seriously mentally ill
and need help. If you can't see that you need help then ask someone else to
read your posts and get their opinion. Do you really think all those people
that posted against you can possibly be wrong? Does the fact that not one
single person stepped in to defend you not tell you something?
Please Arny, get help while you still can.

I think you're spinning your wheels, but if you search the RAO posts in the
Google archive, you'll find out the truth.

I do not think he should try to make trouble for you in real life and I
said as much.
Rereading the thread, I see that his stated intent to call your pastor
was in a different post than that to which I responded. Be that as it
may, you are still mistaken if you think the idea originated with me.

Why is it you and Arny see it as making trouble for him in real life? He is
sick and this is the best way to get him the help he needs.

Don't worry Arny, I managed to get Rev. Matthew Swiatek's number, email

from your recent posts and see if we can't get you the help you so

Well, it doesn't matter now. I have all the details I need and am putting
together a package of some of the most glaring examples of Arnyisms along
with a nice letter to his pastor explaining how he is seriously mentally ill
and should really be committed or sectioned if they have to. Maybe that way
he'll get the help he needs andcan become a decent member of society again,
both on and offline.
Have to say though, the paedophilia bits are REALLY going to open the eyes
of his pastor.

Phildo, anybody who stalks people across Usenet groups and
threatens to make trouble for them in the real world is
well-known and generally agreed-upon to be way over the
edge, and generally a sick puppy.
Sound familiar?
So far a number of RAO regulars have stalked me accross
Usnent, sued me in their state courts, reported me to my
local police as a pedophile and stalked my house. Then
there's the ever-popular try to use my son's tragic death a
few years back against me, which happened for the 564th time
this morning.
So Phildo, on my scale of Usenet weirdos, you're only about
a 5. But you seem to have a lot of enthusiasm for revenge,
so we'll see where you go next. ;-)

When are you going to realise Arny that I am not trying to cause trouble for
you? You are the sick one here and I am trying to get you the help you need
since you cannot even admit to yourself that you have a problem. Maybe
pastor Mat will be able to help.

Admitting to yourself that you have a problem is the hardest step Arny and I
can well see why you are having trouble coming to terms with the fact you
are less than stable mentally. Has the stress been too much for you of late?

Why? I certainly don't have a problem and do not share your faith so it
won't do me any good. The sooner you can realise the problem is with you
Arny, the sooner you can get well again.

Again, admitting that you have a problem is the hardest step Arny and once
you stop focussing on the faults of others and take a long hard look at
yourself you will find many things about you that are far from normal and
that you need help and serious medication/counselling to put right. Just for
once take a look at yourself, read your own posts, step back from the
arguments and ask yourself is what you are doing the sort of thing a sane
person would do? I know it will take a lot of courage which is why I am
asking your friends to help you through it but for once focus on you and get
yourself better.

Dear Phildo,
Just some friendly advice. You need to regroup and rethink your plan of
attack. You obviously think that you dropped a bomb there, but you did not.
If this is any indication of how you plan on domesticating the Krooborg,
you're way out of your league. You'll be shredded like a little lamb in a
wolfpack. I recommend that, at the very least, you study some RAO history
going back 5-6 years. That Ph is in danger of turning into D in a hurry.
Welcome to RAO!
Cheers,

Nice image.
I'd say the threat of tattling on Mr. **** is having the desired effect.
Turdy is writhing in anxiety and rehearsing his "debating trade" dance for
when he gets called on the carpet. Even Krooger might realize that in the
real world, "everybody does it" won't excuse some of the extra-vile things
he's said.
All that ****ing garbage on the ****ing lawn, and nobody to pick it up.....

Well let's hope this new one can do something.
In the meantime I would ask all of you to lay off Arny a bit. Yes, he's a
pain but he's sick and needs help. Just ignore him and hope that this new
pastor can persuade him that he has a serious problem and to get some help
with it.
