anyone having a problem driving past a big tree?
Sirius wasn't so bad, atleast there wasn't static.
I'm thinking maybe it's worse when the sun roof is open. The sunroof slides out
to about 3 inches away from the antenna.
I told the guy..maybe you should put the antenna more on the side of the roof,
but he disagreed

Nope.

I've never heard static on XM either. Its either there.. or not. I just
got back from a week in Washington D.C. and listened to XM the whole way
from Iowa and back again. Through the mountains there were tons of very
high and thick trees and rock where they'd blasted through the rock.
Only once the whole trip did it cut out, for about 1 second, when down
in a cut out rock part. It *DOES*, however, cut out around the "tall"
buildings in downtown Des Moines, Iowa where I work daily. The problem
was non-existant in DC probably due to the terrestrial antennas they
have there and NONE in the Des Moines area.

As to the mounting; isn't it just magnetic? Can't you move it a bit
yourself if you think it will work better? Perhaps if you have a lot of
static you have a bad wire connection somewhere.
