View Full Version : Meet Your Stereophile Author

Music critic Jason Victor Serinus, the author of the funny
article about the HE2005 debate fiasco has a few other
interests:

http://www.planeteria.net/home/whistler/pages/healing.html

"Jason frequently uses his whistling for healing purposes."

"Jason has led group guided meditations/visualizations which
promote healing via the use of whistled tones."

I'm surprised that Jason hasn't induced Stereophile to
release a CD of whistles that heal ailing audio systems.

Now you, Clyde Slick, and me
We were the only sane three :-)
Now Slick he slipped
And you appear flipped
So now I'm about to doubt thee...

It was funny, Too bad we had to explain the joke to you. Not really too
bad. Your taking things seriously and literally was a real hoot.

Funny thing though. This guy has more than one job while Arny has none.
Are you sure you want to belittle people who are doing better than you
Arny?

It could be the next big thing at SP: "Jason's whistling tones align
the energy in the components (especially important with digital!) *and*
relax the listener with subliminal vibrations. SACD available online
through SP's pick-your-pocket-direct service for only $89.99. Pure
Analog Compact Cassette version available as a special order for only
$149.99". ;-)

AFAIK, Jason does not write for Stereophile.

This post could end up on the desk of a Primedia marketing
director's desk next Monday morning!

Yeah. JA just told me about this AWSI. That's what I get for being a
'selective' reader. OTOH (and with no disrespect to Jason), there are
many who have contributed individual articles to Stereophile over the
years.

If I hadn't looked at the guy's web page, I never would've known he'd
been published in the magazine either.

Let us attempt to kill the messenger...an old ploy
used by the "listen to the meters crowd." Many out here
thought the summary by Jason was fine. Do try to grasp
that. Be happy in your little ball of reality as you
have selectively created it...it exists amoungst many
others and 180 degrees out of of phase with you. The
world of ideas and perceptions will continue...the
hard-lined meters crowd cannot accept the variability
of perceptions and the electro-mechanical-chemical
process that executes those perceptions.

I find the Stereophile editor and his opinions
well based in the realities we are faced with
in this day and age. I also find his practical
background in both the metered domain and that
subjective domain, that we all are faced with, to
be well grounded and balanced...those that cannot
see. that are infested with various agendas, forced
by previous statements based on insufficient data.
There were those that stated when these
agendas were being aticulated..."the 16bit
world is sufficient for all...powerline filtering
is a rip-off...there are many boogers at publications
like stereophile...we must be always alert...they
will "force" cables on us that we all know are no
better that regular zip cord efforts in the audio
domain..ad infinitum. These people have created nothing
but dissention...negatives flow...those out there
attempting to use their mental facilities are not
well...only the metered domain will point the way
to the "beauty" of these agendas. Enough of this
kind of reality? One may barf if necessary!

Enjoy the music...with those superior cables and
power filtration and non-16 bit chips..
Do thank those publications that keep us informed
of these non-improvements..I find them very
interesting..but, I rarely buy certain things
that are grossly over-priced..nor do I need input
from the metered crowd and their misinformed agendas
to point out what they seem to be saying in the
debate...I really don't need their help...sorry!
This they cannot accept..period!!!Witness all the
fodder in this Newsgroup...for about a decade.

Stereophile is not a threat to me...do look for a
real adversary...we are not all so weak-minded in this
Capitalistic domain we are daily faced with...in purchasing
items in this audio-world..the metered crowd cannot save
us anyway..much to narrow, bitter and of little interest.
There are those that have sufficent funds to purchase
a $50.000 amp..if they so desire...so be it...the
meter-listeners should back off! Boring, boring group!

Stereophile is an enemy to anyone who believes that reality matters.
Who cares if people want to spend 50K on an amp because of how it
looks. They do that with cars all the time and with watches, both of
which have plenty of examples of underperforming for the money. It's
when they make claims that the expensive stuff is better when it's
either not better or when it is fact worse.

Stereophile has apparently made it their mission to either cater to
stupid people or to try and create them, at least when it comes to
audio.

They have routinely endorsed and promoted things that don't work, and
they are in the forefront of efforts to misdirect and misinform people
about the nature of audio electronics.

I thought the job of an audio magazine was to be informative and
educational, not to lie and distort.

The world is round, but we didn't know that until it was proven.

Audio gear sounds the way it sounds, usually like other audio gear, but
not always. Buy what you like, listen how you please.

Please don't expect me to take the word of the guys at SP, TAS, or the
"Normals" about things sounding different. They are the intellectual
equivlant of the people who locked up Galeleo.

What if audio affects more than your ears? possible?
what if the vibrations are sensed in another way?
what if the effects are subconscious?
now because many people believe so, others have possibly
taken advantage of that. but..........
what if even wires have an effect on the vibrations?

I believe the world is round, skeptic.

can you prove that audio has no subconscious effect?

until then........

NO, but I don't have too. You have the burden of proof.

Yup, the kill the messenger ploy has *NEVER* been used by
the the high priests of Audio

You're probably so biased and blind that you actually
believe that, LCW.

>Many out here thought the summary by Jason was fine.

Even I agree with the following:

http://www.stereophile.com/new*s/050905debate/
"By the end of the hour, if you had been a recent arrival
from another planet and had oriented yourself to life in
the USA by watching action flicks and video games, you
would
have been certain that Arnold B. Krueger was God and John
Atkinson was a pathetic girly man."

Of course it was a joke, but the joke was on poor John.

Nice rationalization for your ****tyness.

You're probably too stupid to realize you are excusing yourself for
****ty behavior because you claim some other unnamed peopel do it too.
Pathetic.

No it was on you. It was particularly funny when you didn't get it. You
actually thought he was being serious. LOL. It was even funnier when
John had to explain to you that it was a joke.
