Not to worry, Lionel, it's a "hairpiece", 100% Dynel. About as real as
Atkinson's audio experiences involving amplifiers. ;-)

Um... both are prety gag-a-licious, but Arny by a small margin
as he can actually smile from time to time.

John has the charisma of a clam, so Arny almost by default.

> 3. Who is more sophisticated?

John.

Arny from a technical prespective. John from a hands-on
prespective, since he has to deal with wads and wads of
overpriced crap on a monthly basis.

> 5. Who is more likable?

Online or in a debate, John. Via Email or likely
in person, Arny. Arny's not such a bad guy once he
gets offline and away from his addiction to ****ing in
the group's cornflakes for amuzement.

This is like saying which is cuter - a frog or a toad.
Both suck and look terminally aging geek.

See my above comment. ;)

" " " " :)

Would not even want to know. I don't think
there is enough electrochock therapy to get rid
of the image of either of their rear ends.

Atkinson, who has a Ph.d in physics, while Arny has a vocational training
that limits his access to higher math.

For what little good it does him.

So numerous post-graduate courses in math constitute
"Vocational Training"?

LOL!

I wish. Bachelor's degree in physics and chemistry, post-graduate
degree in science teaching. I do have 4 PhDs in my writing team,
but arguing by credential is pointles, I feel, hence my not listing
our degrees etc on the amagzine's masthead.

John, the most imporant point is that we've got yet another
example of Morein's biases and inability to get even the
simplist things right, when they disagree with his biases.

My BS + postgraduate work in Engineering becomes vocational
school training, and your BS becomes a PhD.

Worse, it just turned into more B.S. and an addiction to Usenet leaving
you a nonproductive sponge on your spouse.

and your BS becomes a PhD.

He does have a post graduate degree dimbulb. Talk about an inability to
get the simplist things right.

On the first picture that came up, Arny looks like
Charlton Heston under treatment for Cushing Syndrome.
On the next one that follows, he look like Buddy Hackett
with thining hair.

Hi Eddie,

Heh, that IS funny! But I think you're being a little unfair to Arny. I
think he's a reasonably attractive man especially for his age. That said, I
cannot help but think that he looks like an older Jeffrey Dahmer. Imagine
this guy in his late 50's/early 60's

http://web.tiscali.it/giulianodeangelis/Dhamer.htm

That's a younger Arny...

And it really does give me the heebie jeebies especially given the things
Arny writes and the strained way he sounds. However, I really believe that
Arny is very much different in real life....but I still cannot help it...
Maybe one day I'll get over it and have a chance to meet the real MAN behind
all that childish posturing. :-)

Cheers,

Margaret

When John gets rested up, maybe he'll take you out on a

Arguing credentials is indeed pointless, given the appalling lack of
audio technology apparent in the pages of Stereophile. You may wish to
try something that has worked for other review publications, namely
hire an actual expert in the field,
an EE. This no doubt would be problematic for you since that person
would no doubt run screaming from the premises if he weren't allowed to
correct the constant flow of misinformation your magazine seems to
pride itself on publishing.

LOL!!!! Can you imagine "an actual expert in the field, an EE" working
alongside Wes Phillips, Tom "Sam Tellig" Gilette and the rest of the

Agreed. SP has either made an art of coercing people into
hiding their lights under a bushel, or hiring habitual
underachievers.

Whose to say that my hypothesis about bushel baskets and
underachievers aren't on target?

Right, lets take Atkinson's response to past suggestions
that I have a SP column where I could write what I will.
This would be subject only to things like libel and choice
of G-rated words and thoughts. You could put my page next to
Fremer's, and see if the paper in-between would really
combust spontaneously. ;-)

I actually have problems with the idea that someone with a
BS in physics could work with these fine fellows. OTOH, I
can see how someone with a PhD in psychology or psychiatry
could make some progress with them... OTOH, Greenhill never
seems to have done so.

You two are hilarious. The hippy and the nerd.
Maybe you two could start a business together and finally
be successful.
