AMC CVT-3030 tube upgrade - is it worth $160 plus shipping

They can't put in tube sockets, the space is too narrow for EL34s AND
sockets.
They replace the entire output boards including soldered tubes.

If they can do that for $160 for both channels incl. shipping, I'd
call that cheap.
