Using Altec ACS295 sbwfr 2 stereo rec'r?

I have an Altec Lansing ACS295 subwoofer purchased for my computer but
was wondering if it was possible to hook it up to my ONKYO TX-SR502
stereo receiver. I tried pluging in a few different ways, but to no
avail. Any ideas?

Lots of computer subwoofers have special connectors, but assuming it's
functional and has a connector you can use, maybe the Onkyo has to be told
there's a sub in a setup menu somewhere.
