View Full Version : Connect FM radio with rod antenna only to CATV?

Hello Gurus -)
I'm back again. This time I have a Panasonic radio that has an extensible
antenna and no other antenna connection. The rod is attached with a single
screw to a metal part of the radio. I could make up a metal strip to attach
one contact of the CATV cable. Should the other one, the cable sheath, be
connected to the radio ground or is this a lost cause?
TIA

It's an optional connection. If you can connect the ground to the
radio chassis, do so.

Right on the button again Gary.
I made a temporary connection between the middle wire on the cable and the
rod antenna
and it works fine.
Now to get something better.
Thanks again :-)
