Good Morning:
I am trying to find software that allows me to catalogue my records PROPERLY
in the same sense that stores or collectors would.
Have had no luck finding anything to date.
Could any of you please steer me in the right direction?
Thank you
Lex

Don't know if this would "properly" work, but a cheap way to do it
would be to use Microsoft Works. I'm talking about an older version
(5.0) so it might be a little different for newer versions. They have
a template for "CDs/Tapes" under Programs/Works Database/Home
Inventory Worksheets. You then choose start and it gives you a choice
for a template for CDs/Tapes. You then have finished fields for a lot
of information including tracks, producer, time, etc.. You can then
access through a "records" arrow at the bottom. Downside to it is that
it isn't cutomizable, although you can create your own database if you
choose.
They also have a "Books" template as well.
Just one option.

Thank you. That would be an option.
I was trying to avoid using something like Access only to find out I was
inputting the wrong info. I am not sure what info I should be collecting shy
of entering everything on the album such as title, artist, catalogue number,
songs, etc.
If I could find some freeware/software designed specifically for this type
of collection it would save the potential heartbreak down the road.
Either way cataloguing will be a lot of work and I want to start out
properly to avoid having to restart.

You can go here :
http://sourceforge.net/
And search for catalogue, collection...
I'm sure that you will find at least 100 free softwares.
Good luck.
