Suggest you ask in:

rec.audio.tech

Also, do you have any local newsgroups in Los Angeles? Those can be a
good place to get local advice. After you find a local newsgroup, ask
your question there.

You can probably find some local newsgroups like that by searching
newsgroups via Google.com. While you're there, try searching for local
Nakamichi repair places.

And of course, ask Nakamichi for advice.

There are only two places I would let touch my CR-7. One is Stephen
Sank (http://stephensank.com) in NM, the other Jeff Galin
) in CT (both URLs as of 2001). Stephen is very
busy and will take time to do a job (but once completed, you will
fall in love, again, with your deck). Jeff is also very good, but
also quite expensive.
